BREAKING: Adnan Syed, convicted killer featured in 'Serial' podcast, gets new trial

  A judge issued the decision Thursday for Syed, who was found guilty in 2000 of strangling his former high school girlfriend Hae Min Lee after she went missing and was found weeks later buried in Leakin Park in Baltimore. Syed was the focus of the hit podcast "Serial" that uses investigative journalism to tell a non-fiction story over multiple episodes. Syed, who arrived in court in shackles and a blue prison jumpsuit, drew international attention after Serial cast doubt on the conviction.
