BREAKING: History made as Republican delegates formally select Donald Trump as their presidential nominee, the first political newcomer in decades chosen by a major party

  New York billionaire, reality television star and and anti-politician Donald Trump is selected as the Republican party's nominee for president after a roll-call vote at the GOP convention in Cleveland on Tuesday. Trump will formally accept the nomination on Thursday. Trump's home state of New York put him over the top in his quest for the necessary 1,237 delegates to secure the nomination.
