| British Energy Minister Andrea Leadsom pulled out of the race to become the leader of the ruling Conservative Party and the country's next prime minister on Monday. The move appears to clear the path for Theresa May to become the U.K.'s next prime minister. Lawmakers from the party last week chose Home Secretary Theresa May and Leadsom as the final two candidates to succeed Prime Minister David Cameron, who announced his resignation after the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in a referendum on June 23.
