| | Congress gave final approval late Wednesday to a stop-gap spending deal that averts a government showdown this weekend and provides $1.1 billion in long-awaited funding to combat the Zika virus. The House voted to pass the legislation after it was approved by the Senate earlier in the day. President Obama is poised to sign the bill into law.
