BREAKING: Congress rejects Obama veto of 9/11 bill, marking first veto override of his presidency

  The House joined the Senate on Wednesday in voting to overturn the president's veto of legislation allowing survivors and family members of victims to sue Saudi Arabia over the 2001 terror attacks in New York and Washington. It was the first successful override of a presidential veto since Obama took office. The Senate voted 97-1 earlier Wednesday to overturn the veto. The president had argued that allowing suits against other nations in U.S. courts could harm American foreign policy and set a precedent for foreign suits against the U.S.
