BREAKING: Reports: Shimon Peres, former president of Israel who fought in country's war for independence, dies

  Shimon Peres, who was fighting for his life in a Tel Aviv hospital after suffering a major stroke earlier this month, has died, according to multiple reports. Peres, 93, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his role in crafting the Oslo Accords, an agreement that called for a Palestinian state at peace with Israel.
