Senate Republicans have decided to delay a vote on legislation to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, giving up on a goal of passing the bill before Congress adjourns for the July Fourth recess. It had become clear since the bill was released last week that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., did not have enough votes among his own members to advance the bill to the floor. Conservatives have complained that the bill does not remove enough of the structure of Obamacare; moderates have warned that it would throw too many people off Medicaid.
