BREAKING: Senate votes down 'clean repeal' of Obamacare as Republicans plod through health care debate

Having trouble viewing this email? | View it in your browser   The Senate is consumed with a days-long debate on a health care bill to replace Obamacare, moving first Wednesday on an amendment to repeal the Affordable Care Act within two years, giving lawmakers time to come up with a replacement plan before the law expires. The amendment failed to garner enough support due to hesitation among Republicans for "repeal" without a plan for "replace." The proposal was essentially the same as one passed by Congress in 2015, which was vetoed by former president Barack Obama. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and other conservatives have led the push for a complete repeal of Obamacare.
