BREAKING: Hurricane Maria becomes a 'potentially catastrophic' Category 5 storm with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph, National Hurricane Center says

  The National Hurricane Center upgraded Hurricane Maria to a Category 5 storm on Monday night, with the storm registering maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. The eye and the intense inner core will move near Dominica and the adjacent Leeward Islands during the next few hours, the National Hurricane Center added.
