BREAKING: Trump to award Army medic Medal of Honor for actions in secret 1970 mission into Laos

  President Trump will recognize Capt. Gary Rose with the Medal of Honor in an Oct. 23 ceremony, the White House said Wednesday, for his heroism in four days in the jungle in September 1970 as part of the secret Operation Tailwind. "When I think about that four days a half century later, it was almost like one 96-hour day," Rose told USA TODAY in an interview.
