BREAKING: 'Panama Papers' database exposes 200,000 companies amid growing outcry over secret, off-shore tax havens

  The searchable database, released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, is one of the largest ever collections of secret offshore companies and the people behind them. The leaked documents date from 1977 and come from the internal records of Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca, one of the biggest creators of offshore corporations in the world. The first release of documents in April exposed links to Russian President Vladimir Putin and led Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson to step down following disclosure of controversial offshore investments.
