The two major party vice presidential nominees get their chance to step out of their running mates' shadows tonight when they take the debate stage at Longwood University in Farmville, Va. Each candidate has very different goals: Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will try to shift the focus from his running mate Donald Trump's taxes and lackluster debate performance, and raise questions about Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, on the other hand, will work to keep the spotlight directed squarely on Trump. Follow along with USA TODAY's coverage.
